A Word

From the Governing Council

“Community support is an integral part of any successful school. At Mount Compass Area School there are many opportunities for parents, caregivers and community members to become involved. The Governing Council works with school leadership to ensure the school’s curricula, teaching and facilities reflect the needs of the community. Our canteen, Parents and Friends Group and school farm are further examples of opportunities where volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to become involved in any way then please contact our Front Office.”

A Bit about

Parents & Friends

Parents & Friends are a friendly group who meet regularly to discuss and support the involvement of the school community within Mount Compass Area School.

What We Do

We assist with fundraising, support during school events and by offering a means of contact between home and school. Some of our current adventures include : staff lunch, Christmas Pageant sausage sizzle, Sports Day decoration stall, Mother’s & Father’s Day stalls, Showdown donuts and morning tea for Buddy Bench mentors.

Where Do The Funds Go?

Money raised helps the school community by funding special projects that make a difference in the school. Requests for projects are considerred by Parents & Friends committee. Some previous projects include : verandah outside R/1 classrooms, buddy benches, Year 3/4 gardening kit and Vivo Points funding.

How Can I Help?

There are so many ways to get involved and help. While not everyone can spare the time to attend meetings, all help is valued. This can occur in many different ways. We’d love to hear from you. Please contact us.
